GLAT 2021 Syllabus – Download Subject Wise Syllabus

Geeta Law Admission Test (GLAT) is conducted every year by Geeta Institute of Law, affiliated with Kurukshetra University for the admission into the B.A LL.B/ BBA LL.B courses.

The test is conducted in a pen-paper-based test mode. Final admissions will be decided on the basis of the scores obtained in the written test and the personal interview. The exam timing is generally 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. There are a total of 100 objective-type questions each having one mark, and no negative marking shall be applied.

GLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for GLAT 2021, make sure you are eligible for the course you wish to apply for.

Here is the eligibility as per the course offered by Geeta Institute of Law:

For B.A LL.B/BBA LL.B 5 years programme 

  • Candidate must have 10+2 or equivalent with 45% minimum aggregate marks. students passing the year of 2020 can apply.
  • Shall be below 20 years as on 1st July 2021 (for General category) and 22 years as on 1st july 2021 (for SC/ST/OBC category).

For LL.B 3 years Programme

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject with minimum 45% aggregate marks. Students passing in the year 2021 can apply.

For LL.M 2 years Programme

  • Must have minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination i.e LL.B or Five-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.) or any other equivalent exam. Students graduating in the year 2021 can apply.

GLAT 2021 Exam Pattern

GLAT written examination 2021 is conducted for admission in B.A LL.B/ BBA LL.B course. Here is the exam pattern for GLAT written exam:

  • Mode of Examination: Offline
  • Duration: 1 and a half hour (90 minutes)
  • Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Number of Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100 marks

GLAT 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus of GLAT consists of 4 sections, namely General knowledge and current affair, English, Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, and Legal Awareness. The important topics of all the sections have been given below:

1. GLAT General Knowledge and Current Affairs Syllabus

The Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, section will include around 35-39 questions, which is around 25% weightage of the question paper. Questions will be asked from comprehension passages, each 450-words long. The passages will be drawn from the topics like news, legal editorials, and opinions, journalistic sources, non-fiction writing.

Main topics for the Current affairs, including general knowledge syllabus is given below:

  • Indian and world geography
  • Awards and honors
  • Constitution
  • Social studies
  • Science and technology
  • Everyday science

2. GLAT English Syllabus

The English language section of CLAT 2021 will include 28-32 questions; note each question will be of 1 mark. The section will have four to five comprehension passages of about 450 words each. The content of the passages will be derived from contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing. Each passage will be followed by four to five objective-type questions. The English section of CLAT 2021 will test the reading ability of students.

3. GLAT Reasoning Syllabus

The Legal Reasoning section of the CLAT 2021 question paper will contribute around 35-39 questions, or carry 25% weightage. Each question will be of 1 mark; -1/4 mark for an incorrect answer. Questions will be asked from 450-word passages, which will be drawn from fact situations or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions, or moral philosophical inquiries.

GLAT Result 2021

The exam conducting body will announce the GLAT 2021 result on its official website in online mode within one week of examination. In order to check/ download, the result of GLAT 2021 applicants will need to log in on the result portal of Geeta Institute of Law.

The result of GLAT 2021 consists of information such as Applicant’s name, Marks secured, Roll No., Provisional Qualifying status, etc. It should be pointed out that provisional qualifying status does not lead to ensure a seat in the institute.

GLAT 2021 Counselling and Interview

All the applicants who will be shortlisted in the merit list will have to go through two rounds; The interview round and the Counselling process. The GLAT 2021, counselling process will consist of few ordered steps like Registration, DV (document verification), and then Fee submission, etc.

The admission in the 4 offered courses like 5 years B.A. LL.B/ BBA LL.B program, 3-year LL.B Program, and LL.M 2 years Program will be taken after the release of the final result which consists of aggregate marks and ranks obtained in GLAT 2021, merit list, and Interview round.

Document required at the time of Admission

If a candidate got selected and their name comes in the final result then they should have to carry the following documents (original as well as a photocopy) along with them at the time of admission process to the elective courses.

  • Class 10th mark sheet/certificate (both original and photocopy)
  • Class 12th mark sheet/ certificate (both original and photocopy)
  • Character certificate
  • 10 recent passport size photo
  • Caste certificate (if required)
  • Migration certificate (if required)

Geeta Merit Scholarship

Based on the performance in the GLAT 2021, the top two rankers who have enrolled in the 5-year integrated program BA. LL.B (Hons.) or BBA. LL.B (Hons.) shall be awarded a merit scholarship of Rs.30,000/-.

Preparation Tips for GLAT 2021

  • Prepare a plan and allocate sufficient time for each subject to be asked.
  • Read newspapers, books, and blogs daily.
  • Make points, short notes, and diagrams to learn quickly.
  • Practice mock papers on a daily basis.
  • List your weak points for each subject and work more to improve them.
  • Take Regular breaks in between study sessions
  • Avoid junk food, and eat healthy food for your mind.

GLAT 2021 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Candidates should carry the admit card of GLAT 2021 along with one valid photo ID proof such as Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar card etc.
  • Candidates appearing for the law entrance test should read exam day instructions on the admit card carefully to avoid any last-minute hassle
  • Candidates must carry a pen and pencil to the allotted test centre with them
  • However, candidates must note that items like mobile phones and calculators are prohibited inside the exam hall.
