Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is conducted by the Indian Air Force for recruitment of candidates for the post of:
- Flying (Short Service Commission only)
- Technical (Permanent and Short Service Commission)
- Ground Duty (Permanent and Short Service Commission)
Indian Air Force (IAF) will carry out AFCAT and EKT in a computer-based mode. The questions of the AFCAT Exam will be displayed in a random sequence on the computer screen. The language of the exam will be English.

AFCAT Exam Pattern 2021
The conducting body has divided the AFCAT selection process 2021 into three phases:
- AFCAT Online Exam for all candidates
- EKT (for technical candidates)
- AFSB Interview
- Final Selection after Medical Examination.

- The AFCAT is conducted for non-technical candidates.
- AFCAT is an online exam with objective type questions, having multiple options (MCQs)

- EKT is an Engineering Knowledge Test.
- AFCAT EKT is a 45-minute examand is followed by AFCAT.
- Candidates are given 30 minutes window after which AFCAT EKT Exam takes place. The total duration for AFCAT exam is 2 hours and the mode of examination is online.
