The paper will consist of:

  1. Two passages for translation one passage for translation from Hindi to Englishand one passage for translation from English to Hindi
  2. An Essay each in Hindi and English

Therefore, topics covered in the Translation and Essay Exam will be:

  • Paragraph Translation from Hindi to English
  • Paragraph Translation from English to Hindi
  • Essay in English
  • Essay in Hindi

This is to test the candidate’s translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The level of the paper will be consistent with the educational qualifications prescribed.

 

Final Selection

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Paper-I and Paper-II of the examination only. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.

The SSC GD exam is the General Duty Constable examination conducted annually by the Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of eligible personnel in various Government departments and Ministries of the country. Those applicants who qualify written examination will be eligible for the medical test and those candidates who qualify the medical tests will be appointed as GD Constable Posts.

Phase 1/ Tier 1 of the SSC GD Constable Exam

It consists of 4 subjects which are:

Here are some important points needed to keep in mind while preparing for the exam:

  • Phase 1/ Tier 1 consists of 100 questions from 4 different subjects
  • All questions are objective type with 4 different options
  • Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer and – 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
  • Candidates will get 90 minutes for the complete test
  • The questions and options will be given in both English and Hindi Language
  • Each section has 25 questions. Every question is for 1 mark.
  • SSC has pre-fixed the minimum cut off marks for the computer-based examination.

SSC GD Constable Physical Efficiency Test- TIER 2

The candidates who clear the PST will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This examines the endurance and fitness level of the male and female candidates through a race.

The details of the SSC GD PET are as follows.

  • Pregnant women are disqualified from taking the SSC GD PET.
  • Ex-servicemen are exempted from taking the PET.
  • However, the Ex-servicemen have to appear for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

Race:

  1. Male – 5 Kms in 24 minutes
  2. Female – 1.6 Kms in 8 ½ minutes

For candidates of Ladakh Region:

  1. Male – 1 Mile in 6 ½ minutes
  2. Female – 800 metres in 4 minutes

 

SSC GD Constable Physical Standards Test- TIER 3

The candidates who are looking forward to the SSC GD Constable recruitment have to make sure that they meet the required measurements for the Physical Standards Test.

The Physical Standards Test will be the first stage of the selection process. Check the details below.

The selected candidates are medically examined by the Medical Boards constituted by the CAPFs to assess their physical and medical fitness on the basis of the following points:

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is the administering body of the SSC JE Exam for recruiting fresh new engineering graduates for the posts of SSC Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts).

NEGATIVE MARKING:

  • As per the new SSC Junior Engineer Exam Pattern, there will be 0.25% negative marking for every incorrect answer in Paper I.
  • For instance, if the maximum marks allotted for a question is 1, then answering it incorrectly would incur a penalty of 1/4th marks.
  • There will be no negative marking for leaving a question blank.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) (10+2) exam every year. SSC CHSL is a three-tier exam that is conducted to fill up vacancies for a wide range of posts in various Government offices and departments like DEO, LDC, Postal Assistant posts.

The SSC CHSL notification was released on November 6, 2020. The SSC CHSL Tier 1 CBT will be conducted between April 12, 2021, to April 27, 2021.
