The RRB Group D Exam 2021 will comprise of the following stages for final selection:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification & Empanelling of selected candidates
You need to qualify each stage of the RRB Exam to be eligible for the final selection. In order to appear for the first stage, candidates must apply for the exam and pay the application fee.

RC Group D Exam Pattern
- There are four sections in the RRB Group D exam for Tier 1.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning carries the maximum weightage of 30 marks.
- Further, there is another section called General Science with 25 marks weightage.
- Thus, there will be 55 questions from Maths & Reasoning topic and 45 questions from General Science, GK & Current Affairs topic.
- The duration of the test is 90 minutes i.e., 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions like:
a) Mathematics:
For Maths section of any exams by the RRB, it is important to have a clear and thorough understanding of the basic concepts like:
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b) General Intelligence and reasoning:
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c) General Science:
This section checks candidate’s knowledge about the basic terminologies and concepts of Science.
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE). RRB Group D exam 2021 asks 25 Questions from General Science section.

d) General Awareness and Current Affairs:
Current Affairs is the game-changing section in any exam. It tests candidates’ awareness about the happenings around the world and your awareness. Preparation from the beginning itself is necessary in order to crack this section.

3.RRB Group D Exam Pattern for PET
As per the RRB Group D Cut-off marks in the CBT, shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
The PET is qualifying in nature and it is mandatory to qualify the RRB Group D PET for being considered for the next stage of the selection process. The RRB Group D selection criteria for the 2nd stage involves the following criteria for male and female candidates:

- Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates:
Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options. Candidates will have to produce all the original documents in the RRB Group D document verification.
