UP Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET) is a state-level exam conducted by Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. UPCATET 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for all the courses are discussed below:
- BSc (Honours) Agriculture/ BSc (Honours) Horticulture/ BSc (Honours) Forestry:
Candidates must have cleared Class XII with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to be eligible for UPCATET 2021 eligibility criteria.
- Bachelor in Fisheries Science (BFSc):
Candidates must have cleared Class XII with Agricultural Science/ Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) subject to be eligible for UPCATET 2021 eligibility criteria.
- BSc (Honours) Home Science:
Candidates should have cleared Class XII in Arts stream with Home Science/ PCB/ PCM/ PCMB/ Agricultural Science subject to be eligible for UPCATET exam. Only female candidates can apply for this course as per the official notice.
Age Limit
The age limit as per the framed eligibility criteria differs from program to program. Details are given below:
- For B.V.Sc. and A.H. Programmes a candidate must be 17 to 25 years old as of October 31, 2021.
- For UG Programmes a candidate must be 16 to 22 years old as of October 31, 2021.
- Remember for candidates interested to pursue PG Programmes, there is no age limit.
UPCATET 2021 Exam Pattern
- The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi language.
- The question paper comprises 200 multiple choice questions of 600 marks.
- The exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours.
- UPCATET Syllabus is different for different courses, set by the conducting body.
Marking Scheme
- For every correct answer, 3 marks are awarded to the students.
- Candidates are advised to read the questions carefully because for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted from the total marks.
- No marks are deducted for the unattem-pted questions.

Undergraduate Programs
- The question paper comprises 200 multiple choice questions complete in three hours duration.
- There are four groups of paper: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS
- Students appearing in the PCB Group can take admission in subjects such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry and Veterinary Science.
- Candidates applying for PCM group can secure admission in Agriculture, Horticulture, Home Science and B.Tech programs.
- PAG Group comprises Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry, and B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and Biotechnology subjects.
- The PHS Group is only meant for candidates seeking admission in B.Sc Home Science subject.

UPCATET Exam Pattern for MBA (Agriculture Business)
- Students have to appear for the screening test which consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions
- Time duration to complete the test is 2 hours
- Those students who have qualified the exam will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list for Group Discussion and Personal Interview
- Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall carry 50 and 150 marks.
PhD Programs
- The time duration to complete the PhD test is 2 hours.
- The paper consists of 100 multiple choice questions carrying 300 marks
