Uttar Pradesh Ashram Padhati Exam is conducted by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) For the recruitment of vacant Lecturer post for Uttar Pradesh Lecturer Government Inter College Ashram system.

- It is a Written exam.
- Questions will MCQ based.
- Exam Paper will hold General Studies and Main Subject whichever the candidate has applied.

Syllabus for Preliminary Exam
Preliminary exam has objective type multiple choice questions. Duration of exam is 2 hours. There are total 120 questions in prelims exam. 40 questions are from General Studies whereas 80 questions from the Optional subject. Preliminary exam is of 300 marks having one paper only. Following is the syllabus of GS paper:
- General Science of 10th class level.
- History of India.
- Indian National Movement.
- Indian Polity, Economy and Culture.
- Indian Agriculture, Commerce and Trade.
- Geography of World and India.
- Natural resources of India.
- Current National and International Important events.
- Logical and reasoning intelligence.
- Specific knowledge regarding Education, Culture, Agriculture, Industry Trade, Living and Social Traditions of UP.
- Elementary Math up to 8th level.
- Ecology and Environment.
Syllabus for Main Exam
Exam Syllabus for Main Examination is given below:
First Section – General Hindi – Fixed Marks-50
- Summary of unread passage, related questions, explanation of underlined passages and its appropriate title.
- Synonyms, Antonyms, Synonyms, Similar and Tadbhav, Regional, Foreign (Word Store), Spelling, Meaning, Word-form, Treaty, Compounds, Verbs, Hindi Alphabet, Punctuation, Word Formation, Sentence Structure, Meaning, Idioms and proverbs, main dialects of Uttar Pradesh and inaccuracies in the use of Hindi language.
Second Section – Hindi Essay – Fixed Marks-50
There will be a section under it. One essay will have to be written from this section. The maximum extension limit of this essay will be 1000 words. The following areas will be for the essay:
- literature, culture
- National Development Plans/Implementation
- National-International, contemporary social problems/diagnosis
- science and environment
- Natural calamities and their prevention
- Agriculture, Industry and Trade
Interview or Viva voce
The eligibility of the candidate, who is to be called for viva-voce, in view of the marks obtained by him/her in the screening test and typing test, shall be finally decided after scrutiny of the application, verification of documents and testimonials produced at the time of viva-voce. The candidates who are called for viva-voce shall produce all the original documents at the time of interview. If it is found that the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria as per advertisement, then he/she will not be allowed for viva-voce (interview) and will be disqualified.
