UPSC Principal Selection Process
The sectional process for the UPSC Principal examination is conducted in three phases which are given below:
- Prelims (Objective Type)
- Mains (Written Test)
- Interview
Age Limit:
- Not exceeding 50 years for General and EWS candidates as on normal closing date.
- Not exceeding 55 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.
- Not exceeding 53 Years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.

Desirable Education Qualification:
Holding Doctorate Degree from a Recognized University / Institute. Experience of Administrative charge of a Recognized High School / Higher Secondary School / Intermediate College.
